Spotlight on Medication Safety

Letter from the Chairman, November 2017

Dear Patient Safety Leaders,

Medication safety is a critical component of safe patient care and the focus for the November issue of the Patient Safety Newsletter. Medication errors are a common cause of preventable patient death in healthcare, which is why we call on you to download and implement our Medications Actionable Patient Safety Solutions (APSS) and share it amongst your healthcare colleagues so that together we can reduce the number of preventable deaths caused by medication errors.

Learn more about medication safety by reading the Spotlight on Christopher Jerry, an advocate, educator, and the Founder of the Emily Jerry Foundation. Following the tragic loss of his daughter Emily, Chris has made significant strides in-hospital medication safety with initiatives aimed to change pharmacy technician laws and helping to save lives through eliminating the human error component of medicine.

If you haven’t already heard, the 6th Annual World Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit will be taking place February 23-25, 2018, in London, United Kingdom. We hope you will join us! Stay up to date on the latest Summit details!

Best regards,

Joe Kiani
