Chief Nursing Executive/Vice President of Nursing, Masimo Corporation

Michael Becker  serves as the Chief Nursing Executive/ Vice President of Nursing at Masimo a publicly traded global medical technology company that develops and manufactures innovative noninvasive patient monitoring technologies, including medical devices and a wide array of sensors.  The company’s focus is improving patient safety, reducing the cost of care and improving nursing work flow. In this role Michael is the catalyst that connects the wide array the Masimo Technology platform to the clinical indications, quality, safety and regulatory requirements as well as the process of nursing workflow.

Prior to joining Masimo Michael held senior management positions including Chief Nursing Officer at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, where he was led the Medical Center to their first Magnet designation. His experience also includes; Director of In-patient Clinical Services for Temple Physicians Inc., and Senior Clinical Consultant for CareScience, a quality and safety consulting firm. Michael has extensive clinical operating as well as patient quality and safety experience. He has presented nationally and internationally on the topics of patient safety and quality as well as shared governance and service-line development. He is a member of the National Alarm Coalition, Co-lead for the Pennsylvania Action Coalition and a member of the Forum on Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care sponsored by ACOG.  Michael holds both a B.S.N and M.S.N from LaSalle University, and a Ph.D. in Healthcare Administration from Capella University.
