Miguel Miró, MD, PhD, DESA

Miguel Miró received his medical degree at the Autónoma University of Madrid, Spain in 2003. He completed his training in anesthesiology at the University Hospital La Paz (Madrid) in 2004. He worked as anesthesiology consultant at the University Hospital Fundación Alcorcón (Madrid) where he took an active role in the Spanish Notification System for Safety in Anesthesia (SENSAR). In 2010 he obtained the European Diploma in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. In 2012 he defended his PhD at the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid), a work about the influence of the thoracic epidural on the cardiac function that was awarded with Summa Cum Laude.
Between 2013-2014 he did a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia in the Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust and in the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust (UK).
In 2015 he Graduated from SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, Italy) Masters in International Healthcare Management, Economics and Policy (MIHMEP). An international top ranking degree which provides the needed capabilities for leadership and a 360º vision of today´s challenging healthcare sector.
Since 2016 he is the Head of the Anesthesiology Dept and the President of the Patient Safety Committee at the University Hospital of Torrejón (Madrid).
Dr Miró has an extensive international experience with the development and implementation of different EHR in intensive care units and operating theatres.
Miguel´s professional added value extends to frequent partnerships and gigs as a consultant for different healthcare corporations (Philips, GE, 3M).
