Professor of Anesthesiology and Trauma Surgery and Adjunct Professor of Dentistry, Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California in Los Angeles

Philip Lumb, M.B., B.S., MD, Master FCCM is Professor of Anesthesiology and Trauma Surgery and Adjunct Professor of Dentistry at the Keck School of Medicine the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.  He is the former Department Chairman and current Director of Anesthesiology Research.

Dr. Lumb is former Secretary-General and Chancellor of the American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) and former President and Secretary-General of the World Federation Intensive and Critical Care (WFICC).  He has published over 100 articles and numerous abstracts and editorials, authored 50 book chapters, edited ten textbooks or monographs and presented over 600 invited scientific lectures at national and international conferences.  

Dr. Lumb is the immediate past Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Critical Care (JCC).

He was recently awarded the Academy of Anesthesiology’s Distinguished Service Award and Citation of Merit and the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiology’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
