William T. Peruzzi, MD, SM, FCCM is the Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain Management & Perioperative Medicine at the Henry Ford Health System (Detroit, Michigan) and Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Prior to joining the Henry Ford Health System in 2015, Dr. Peruzzi served as Chief Medical Officer for the Alameda Health System in Oakland California and Chair of the Board of Directors of Alameda Health Partners (Physician Hospital Organization); Vice Chief Medical Officer for the University of Miami Hospital; Executive Medical Director & Service Line Executive for Critical Care Services at the University of Miami , Health System; and Professor & Chief of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Peruzzi has held full professorships at Northwestern University, the University of Texas and the University of Miami.

Dr. Peruzzi has published articles, books and abstracts in the fields of critical care medicine, respiratory care and anesthesiology. He has served as Chancellor of the Board of Regents of the American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) within the Society of Critical Care Medicine; has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists (SOCCA); and served on the Board of Medical Advisors (BOMA) for the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC).

Dr. Peruzzi holds a Master of Science (SM) Degree in Healthcare Management from the Harvard School of Public Health; an M.D. Degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine; a Master’s Degree (MS) in Neuroscience and a Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Biology and from John Carroll University (Cleveland, OH). In terms of graduate medical education, he completed an internship and residency in Anesthesiology at the Ohio State University and a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship in the Department of Anesthesiology at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Peruzzi is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), holds a Certification of Special Qualifications in Critical Care Medicine (ABA) and is licensed to practice medicine in Michigan, California, Florida, Illinois, Ohio and Texas.
