How will your donation help to advance patient safety?

Every donation made to the patient safety movement foundation helps support our programming and education to:

1. Generate awareness and educate the public about patient safety. Unsafe care which is claiming the lives of over 3 million patients globally every year. That’s one life lost every 10 seconds.
2. Build capacity for our health systems to become safe and highly reliable by creating free tools and resources to help them implement systems and processes that can prevent unnecessary harm and death. 

How does your donation impact programs and operations?

As a non-profit organization with a budget of greater than $2 million annually, we are required to hire an external auditor every year to review our finances. You can click here to view the Auditor’s Report for the latest audited fiscal year, through March 31, 2021.

We are proud to share that last year only 12.2% of our budget went toward administrative costs. It is expected that non-profit organizations keep administrative costs below 15%, in general. 

Can I make a donation in someone’s honor/in memory of a loved one?

Yes. More people are choosing alternative gift options for birthdays, holidays, memorials and many other occasions. If you make a donation online you will be prompted to enter in the name of someone you are donating in honor or memory of. We add these names to our memorial and tribute page here. 

Will I get a receipt for my donation?

Yes, once your donation has been processed, you will receive a confirmation letter and receipt that you can keep for your personal records.
