The Swiss Patient Safety Foundation honors world patient safety day in organizing an action week centered around 3 initiatives:
1) In order to raise awareness, Swiss healthcare institutions are motivated to participate the WHO action of lighting up buildings and monuments in orange on world patient safety day.

2) To spread knowledge about patient safety hazards and effective measures, we developed 11 knowledge cards illustrating them along a life span. They can be used for internal activities.

3) Service providers were invited to send in videos about one of their patient safety measures, their aims, tools, and effects. Those videos are intended to increase the visibility of the providers’ engagement for patient safety and to foster interorganizational learning.
