José Ángel Córdova Villalobos MD

Counselor and President of the General Electoral Institute of the Guanajuato’s State

He was born at León, Guanajuato, México , on August 19th, 1953
He graduated as General Physician at the Medical Faculty of the University of Guanajuato, where he also studied a Master on Public Administration and the Specialty on Public Administration for the states and cities. He’s specialist in Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, by the Paul Sabatier’s University of Toulouse, France, and for the National Institut of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, Salvador Zubirán at México, city. He has 4 Doctorates “ Honoris Causa” by the follow Universities : Paul Sabatier at Tulouse France, and Guadalajara’s Autonomous University, Chiapas’ Autonomous University and Benito Juarez Tabasco’s Autonomous University, last three from Mexico.
He has been Councelor and President of the General Electoral Institute of the Guanajuato’s State from 1994 to 2002; has participated as a jury on Investigation competition of the Health Secretary and General Council of Investigation and Technology of the Guanajuato’s State.
In the Academic Sector, has been official of the Teachers and Students of the Academy of the Medicine Faculty of the University of Guanajuato, where he has been Titular Professor of the Medicine and Nutrition Careers ; DEAN of the Medicine Faculty from 1990 to 1997; President of the National Association of Faculties and Schools of Medicine from 1995 to 1997, during this period he started the Certification’s processes of the Units that formed the Professionals of Health.
He belongs to the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico, the Mexican Surgery Academy, The Bioethics Mexican Academy, and the French National Academy of Medicine, and the French National Academy if Surgery as well as 7 Medical Associations: The Mexican Gastroenterology Association, The General Surgery Mexican Association, The Digestive Endoscopy Mexican Association, The Endoscopic Surgery Mexican Association, The Association of Specialized Physician Certified of the Guanajuato’s State; The American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
In 1993, Dr. Cordova was Secretary of Relations of the Mexican Gastroenterology Association, in 1994 President of the Digestive Endoscopic Mexican Association, and in 1995 President of the Undergraduate Surgical Education Comitee of the General Surgery Mexican Association.
