Shaun is a bureau chief for the UK Health Service Journal magazine – an independent news provider focused on the UK National Health Service. Shaun has a national focus on patient safety and quality of care in the NHS. He leads a team of journalists looking at care quality and regulation and he specialises in carrying out investigative journalism. Shaun has been a journalist for 17 years, and helped expose the Mid Staffordshire care scandal in England while working as a local newspaper reporter. He attended most days of the subsequent public inquiry and gave evidence as a witness. Since then he has become an advocate for patients and has been at the forefront of reporting developments in safety policy in the UK.
