Ted Baker, MD

Dr. Baker is the founding chair of the Health Services Safety Investigations Body, set up in 2023 by the UK Parliament to bring a new systems-based approach to healthcare safety investigations. He came to this role after an extensive clinical and academic career in medicine. He trained as a pediatric cardiologist in both the UK and the United States and undertook pioneering work on the development of magnetic resonance imaging of the heart. He has held senior leadership positions at leading medical academic centres in London and Oxford and was for five years was the national leader for the regulation of all hospitals in England. Throughout his career he has championed new approaches to patient safety.”
